UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – RARE WITHDRAWN 1977 National Day, MNH/VF – Michel 95-97 In 1977 the UAE celebrated its 6th National Day with a set of 3 stamps featuring a military motif. However, they were withdrawn on the first day of issue because it was discovered that the date in Arabic was inscribed backwards! Nevertheless, a quantity of stamps had been already sold, and some of them actually used on mail that day. The remaining mint sets, consequently, are rare and greatly sought after.
